How to list well

Be specific about your water. Anglers want to know the river system, the beat name, the season dates, and what species they're likely to catch. If you run a charter, list your departure port, the fishing grounds, the target species, and what you provide — rods, bait, safety gear, tea and biscuits. If you teach, say what level you cater to, what equipment is included, and whether beginners are welcome.

Mention permits and licences. Scotland's fishing laws are complex — some waters are on the Crown Estate, some are owned by estates, some are club-controlled. Tell folk what they need before they turn up. A disappointed angler on the bank is bad for everyone.

If you're near accommodation, a pub, or a car park, say so. Anglers travel, and they plan their whole trip around the fishing.
